About Us

Organised by the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), National Engineers Day (NED) is an annual celebration of the engineering profession, dedicated to honouring engineers and their invaluable contributions to society. The event aims to elevate the recognition of engineers, inspire future generations, and spark interest in the vast opportunities within engineering field.

Since its launch in 2010, IES has collaborated with tertiary institutions, government agencies, engineering firms, and industry experts to curate an engaging and impactful programme each year.

Building on past successes, NED 2026 will embrace the theme:
‘Engineering the New Future: Unlocking Opportunities through Emerging Technologies.’ This theme underscores the transformative role of emerging technologies in shaping a sustainable, resilient, and future-ready society.

Mark your calendars! The 17th edition of NED will take place from 3 to 14 August 2026, featuring a dynamic lineup of industry-led seminars and curated learning journeys. These programmes are designed to showcase engineering ingenuity, highlight cutting-edge innovations, and provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of engineering careers.

At the heart of NED 2026, the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC) will once again take centre stage. Now in its 12th edition, this nationwide competition challenges students—from secondary schools to universities – to develop innovative, engineering-driven solutions to real-world challenges

Aligned with this year’s theme, participants will explore key areas including:

  • Energy
  • Space and Technology
  • Water Security and Food Supply Chain
  • Digital Transformation
  • Enablers for Healthcare and Ageing Population

With the strong support of the Ministry of Education and industry partners, EIC offers participants hands-on experience, mentorship from professional engineers, and a platform to showcase their creativity, technical capabilities, and problem-solving skills.

Join us at NED 2026 and be part of a forward-looking movement that is shaping the future through engineering innovation and emerging technologies.
